称业内缺乏对VR支持,这家VR老牌工作室宣布关停
First Contact Entertainment, a VR game developer whose goal is to create AAA-quality games, recently announced that they will be closing their studio by the end of this year due to the lack of support for VR within the industry. Some community members believe that First Contact Entertainment, despite focusing on developing high-quality VR games, has been unable to attract investors to continue supporting them as they have not been able to produce a breakout hit. The team, composed of members from Blizzard, Respawn Entertainment, Treyarch, and Infinity Ward, was founded in 2016 with the aim of creating high-quality VR games. Their first game, "ROM: Extraction," released in 2016 on Steam and Oculus Home, received poor reviews and sales. However, their exclusive game for the PSVR platform, "Firewall Zero Hour," released in 2018, received positive reviews. In 2020, they released "SOLARIS OFFWORLD COMBAT" for the Quest and PSVR platforms, but it also failed to make a significant impact. Despite positive reviews for their PSVR 2 game, "Firewall: Zero Hour from First Contact," the lack of support for VR ultimately led to the studio's closure.
