Pico, a VR company, recently introduced its new VR headset, Pico G2, and raised $167.5 million in Series A funding. Pico CEO Zhou Hongwei discussed the company's strategy and plans. He emphasized that mobile VR is their main focus, with consumer and enterprise markets both being targeted. While Pico has also expanded into AR and 3D sensing, mobile VR remains their primary focus. Zhou believes that the consumer market for mobile VR will experience a new opportunity in 2019. Pico aims to provide a good user experience at an affordable price, currently targeting the ToC (Consumer-to-Consumer) market. They are working on improving video consumption and expanding content options. Pico also plans to develop a social VR platform, although Zhou acknowledged that there are already popular social VR platforms available. Pico's long-term goal is to establish a broad XR consumer ecosystem, which includes virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies.
