Wearable Devices, a company aiming to establish XR input standards through neural wristbands, has announced the launch of its first AI neural wristband, Mudra Link. The Mudra Link wristband is currently available for pre-order at a discounted price of $199 (33% off the original price of $299). The product is scheduled to begin shipping in January 2025.
Mudra Link is a multi-functional and advanced version of Mudra Band, a wristband designed for Apple Watch. Unlike Mudra Band, Mudra Link is not limited to Apple devices but is compatible with any Bluetooth-enabled device, making it an important tool for seamless interaction across various platforms and use cases.
Mudra Link allows users to control devices directly through gestures, effectively translating the brain's intention into digital commands. It achieves seamless and non-contact control through advanced neural technology, utilizing surface neural conduction (SNC) sensors to detect subtle electrical signals emitted by the nerves and convert them into precise digital commands. Mudra Link is designed to enhance the XR experience by combining SNC sensors with an inertial measurement unit to achieve excellent accuracy and responsiveness.
The Mudra team described Mudra Link as a significant step towards establishing XR input standards, as it enhances XR applications, including virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality, by providing intuitive and non-contact interaction with the digital environment. This technology enables users to navigate and control XR interfaces using natural gestures, enhancing the immersive experience and serving the growing XR market.
