Oculus Rift S, a PC VR headset priced at $400, is currently out of stock worldwide, disappointing those who wish to purchase it. The supply of this headset has been consistently limited, and as of last week, only countries like Australia, New Zealand, and Japan, where direct orders can be placed through Oculus, still had stock available. However, now every country/region is officially sold out and has a shortage of the device. Independent retailers may still have some stock, but with the escalating COVID-19 outbreak, fewer people are willing to go out, and more stores are choosing to temporarily close. Additionally, due to the impact of the virus on the supply chain, it is likely to be difficult to replenish the inventory of Rift S in the short term. It is worth noting that Valve's highly anticipated game, "Half-Life: Alyx," will be released on March 24th and will support various VR headsets including Valve Index, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Windows VR, and Oculus Quest when connected to a PC via Oculus Link.
