Apple has released the second RC version of visionOS 2.1, shortly after pushing out the first RC version to developers. Developers can update their devices by going to Settings, selecting Software Update, and clicking on the "Test Version Update" option. They need to have their Apple ID associated with their developer account to download and install the test version.
visionOS 2 can extract depth information from 2D photos and convert them into 3D photos using advanced machine learning. Apple states that this feature aims to enhance the immersive experience of memories by adding depth to photos.
The new version also introduces new gestures to activate the main view and control center. Furthermore, the main view is customizable, allowing users to rearrange applications. The travel mode includes support for trains, and guest user profiles can now be saved for 30 days, eliminating the need to set up profiles every time the headset is used.
Additionally, Mac Virtual Display will support higher resolutions and larger-sized virtual displays, equivalent to two 4K displays placed side by side.
