Steam 4月数据:PICO 4份额连续6个月节节攀升
Valve recently released its hardware and software survey data for April 2023, showing an increase of 0.55% in the proportion of VR headset users on Steam, reaching 1.93%. In terms of headsets, the market share of PICO 4 has been growing for six consecutive months, while Meta Quest 2 saw a significant increase of 0.73% in its market share, possibly due to inventory clearance sales before the release of Quest 3. The April data for Meta Quest 2 was 45.14%.
The chart released by Valve shows that Meta Quest 2 had the largest increase in market share in April. With the expected release of Quest 3 in the second half of this year, official retailers are actively conducting inventory clearance promotions for Quest 2. However, it is predicted that Quest 2 will not be able to reach the milestone of dominating the SteamVR market share due to the imminent release of Quest 3.
In terms of other headsets, Valve Index decreased by 0.34% to 17.02%, while HTC Vive Pro 2 and Vive Cosmos remained unchanged. PICO 4 continued its upward trend, increasing by 0.12% in April, reaching a market share of 1.35%.
In terms of overall brand market share, Meta still leads by a wide margin, reaching 64.31% in April, with an increase of 0.41% compared to the previous month. Valve, HTC, WMR, and PICO followed closely behind.
Apple is expected to unveil a new XR headset at the WWDC conference in June. Although Apple has a reputation for having a closed ecosystem, there is speculation that they may consider allowing Steam access due to limited available content. Whether through official or unofficial means, the community may find ways to bypass restrictions and access a large number of VR content on Apple's XR devices.
