GE Healthcare and MediView XR have successfully deployed the OmnifyXR solution, based on Microsoft HoloLens, at North Star Vascular and Interventional in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. This innovative interventional radiology suite combines holographic real-time medical imaging, 3D anatomical model visualization, and advanced imaging technology, while also enabling opportunities for remote collaboration to enhance precise care for various interventional procedures. The collaboration between GE Healthcare and MediView XR aims to address challenges faced by practitioners in image-guided therapies, such as blurry visual interfaces, limited access to displays, and time-consuming workspace adjustments. The OmnifyXR solution, developed by MediView XR in collaboration with GE Healthcare, seamlessly adapts to existing interventional suites and leverages mixed reality to support workflow efficiency, ergonomics, improved visualization, and collaborative care. The solution provides support to clinicians through enhanced work efficiency and ergonomics, improved visualization of anatomy with 3D assistance, and collaborative care through remote collaboration, consultation, training, supervision, and support. The team at North Star Vascular and Interventional expressed how OmnifyXR will change the way they handle cases, allowing 3D models to be placed anywhere in the room, enabling assessment from different angles and perspectives for wiser decisions regarding surgical methods and procedures.
