Oculus Go, the mobile VR headset developed by Oculus in collaboration with Xiaomi, was released in China on June 1st. While it has been praised for its affordable price and good VR experience for social interactions, video watching, and casual gaming, its limited three degrees of freedom (3DoF) interaction restricts its core applications. On the other hand, high-end PC VR requires high consumer costs and lacks easy-to-use experiences. NOLO, a company that provides a complete hardware and software ecosystem for mobile VR headsets, aims to bridge this gap by offering a solution that enables PC VR-level VR gaming experiences on mobile VR devices. NOLO CV1, their 6DoF hardware device, is priced at RMB 1299 and can be used with mainstream mobile VR headsets, some PC VR and all-in-one VR devices, and AR headsets. The company has gained attention from VR headset manufacturers, and it is confident that they will choose NOLO's solution in the future. However, NOLO HOME, their mobile VR application platform, currently has a limited number of applications, and the company hopes more developers will join through its SDK to achieve their goal of hundreds of 6DoF game applications in the next two years.
