Nreal, a Chinese augmented reality (AR) startup, has launched its light and comfortable AR glasses called Nreal Light in South Korea. The glasses weigh only 88 grams and have a comparatively wider field of view than other AR devices. They connect to a small, portable computing unit via a USB-C cable. Users can interact with the glasses using hand gestures or a 3DoF controller. The glasses also feature a 1080p display, a Snapdragon 845 processor, and a six degrees of freedom (6DoF) tracking system. The Nreal Light glasses are priced at around $530 and come with a software development kit for developers to create AR applications. Nreal aims to tap into the South Korean market before expanding globally. The startup has plans to launch an enterprise version of its glasses for corporate customers in 2020, and it also plans to launch a consumer version of the glasses in early 2021.
