各VR头显FOV测试报告:都如此虚标吗?
Virtual Dimension Center (VDC), a German organization, has released a report titled "Head-Mounted Displays: Messung des Sichtfelds (Field of View)", following its previous report on VR headset tracking accuracy measurement. The report measures the field of view of 14 VR headsets using a standardized 3D head model and cameras instead of human eyes. The results show that the highest diagonal field of view is found in the 8K series by Pimax, reaching up to 141.5 degrees, followed by the Samsung Odyssey at approximately 102 degrees, HTC Vive Pro at 96.5 degrees, and the original Oculus Quest at around 85 degrees.
In comparison to the manufacturers' claims, VDC provides a comparison chart that shows the differences between the claimed field of view and the measured values. The report also mentions that there may be variations in the field of view due to different head shapes, IPD, and VR headset configurations. However, it is worth noting that the list of tested VR headsets is limited and does not include popular current models such as Oculus Quest 2, Valve Index, and Pico Neo 2.
For more detailed measurements, including horizontal and vertical field of view, readers can refer to the complete report provided by VDC in the Tencent document linked in the article.
